Perko Marine Compensating Ships - Oil Lamp with Smoke Bell 12.5"LAMPARA DE ACEITE DE ALTA CALIDAD CON EJE CARDANICO AÑO 1950Perko Marine Brass Compensating Ships Lantern. The bottom is indented with the manufactures name "Perko". Perko was initially known as the Perkins Marine Lantern Co. This is a motion sensitive wall lamp. As the ship would roll or list the lantern would compensate for the movement. Solid brass or heavy galvanized steel is necessary for use around boats and salt water. This one is Brass. I believe this to be a Kerosene lamp. The fount shows no signs of rust, there are no dents, the welds are without any signs of stress cracking, the wick is still intact as well as it's adjustment screw, the swivel is in excellent working order, the wall housing and it's adjusting screw are also without problems. The Globe with it's nine star design appears to be Cut Glass and is entirely problem free and snugly complies with the lantern. The brass wick adjustment thumbscrew denotes "English Made".
